General Electric, parent of GE Employers Re, has re-branded its reinsurance and commercial insurance segments as GE Insurance Solutions.
At a gathering in Toronto Tuesday, Peter Borst, chief agent in Canada for the reinsurance operation of GE Insurance Solutions welcomed Ken Brandt, head of P&C reinsurance, North America & Asia, who commented on the new brand. He notes that it not only encompasses the former GE ERC, but also GE Re, GE Frankona Re, Westport Insurance and more.
While the legal names of its operating entities will not change, the brand is a chance for the conglomerate to offer a single face to customers which takes in the many insurance and reinsurance companies. GE Global Insurance Holding Corp. is changing its name to GE Insurance Solutions Corp. The name changes are also part of an overall streamlining of brands by GE.
In a press release, GE Insurance Solutions CEO Ron Pressman says, “Our brand is a promise to our customers that they will get world-leading risk expertise from dedicated people who build strong relationships by delivering unsurpassed customer service.”
GE purchased ERC in July, 1984 from Texaco.
