The report, which uses data from 27 American states, is specific to stolen cars, trucks and SUVs that were recovered in 2012 and equipped with LoJack’s radio transceiver.

The next eight most stolen vehicles, in order, were the:

  • Toyota Camry
  • Acura Integra
  • Toyota Corolla
  • Chevrolet Silverado
  • Cadillac Escalade
  • Nissan Maxima
  • Nissan Altima; and
  • Chevrolet Tahoe

In its press release March 21, LoJack stated the most stolen and recovered new models (2012) with LoJack devices were the Honda Accord, Ford F-250 Pickup, Toyota Camry Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.

LoJack’s radio-frequency transceiver, which is installed by a technician, gets activated when the user reports to police that their vehicle has been stolen. Once it’s activated, LoJack says the device can send its location, using the global positioning satellite (GPS) system, to readers in police cars.
