Insurers recently offered support and appreciation for a special brochure called Insuring Old Homes in Nova Scotia.
“We’re pleased that anyone in Nova Scotia who owns a heritage home has more information today on the insurance options available to them,” Don Forgeron, vice-President, Atlantic, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), says. “This brochure helps get out the message that insurance for heritage homes is widely available at a reasonable price.”
Forgeron says the brochure is a result of joint efforts from the provincial government, Halifax Regional Municipality, the Provincial Heritage Property Owners’ Association of Nova Scotia, Heritage Trust of Nova Scotia and many partners in the insurance industry.
This brochure, he explains, represents an outreach with consumers and is the kind of proactive approach of sitting down with insurance consumers that the IBC says helps the organization to understand the policyholders’ situation and thus address their needs.
