The Insurance Corp. of British Columbia (ICBC) says it will begin charging a $25 “no show” fee for drivers who do not show up for scheduled road tests, or provide adequate notice of cancellation. The fee comes into effect from the end of March this year. This move by the provincial crown insurer puts British Columbia on par with provinces like Ontario and Quebec which charge $25 and $20 respectively for “no show” road test appointments. “A significant number of people who book road tests do not show up for their scheduled appointments. That appointment time could easily be used by another customer,” says COO Bill Goble.
