ING Canada has announced a major shuffle of its senior executive staff, with Charles Brindamour assuming the newly created role of COO, Derek Iles accepting the title of president of ING Insurance, and the retirement of two executive staff members Don Lough and Jacques Valotaire.
Brindamour, in his new role, will be responsible for all of ING Canada’s insurance operations. He joined the company 15 years ago, and has held a variety of executive posts throughout that time, most recently as executive VP of ING Canada, says a company release.
Reporting to Brindamour will be Iles who will take charge of ING Insurance, the subsidiary responsible for the sale of insurance products and services through independent brokers across the country. Having been with the company since 1991, Iles will leave his post as executive VP in Ontario and the western provinces.
Lough announced his retirement after a 17-year career with the company, in which he held a number of executive positions.
Valotaire, executive VP responsible for insurance operations in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces as well as for ING Canada’s direct marketing insurance subsidiary, will also retire, concluding a 16-year career with the company.
Claude Dussault said in a statement, “this new structure will enable us to further leverage our competitive advantages to maintain and expand our market leadership position.”
