Insurance Central and BrokerLink have jointly announced that Darren DeDobbelaer, president of Insurance Central, a full service brokerage operating in Southwestern Ontario, has sold his brokerage to BrokerLink.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Established in 1991, the BrokerLink companies – including Canada Brokerlink Inc., Canada Brokerlink (Ontario) Inc. and Canada Brokerlink Financial Inc. – together constitute P&C insurance brokerage operations with 45 offices that service 175,000 clients across Ontario and Alberta.
The BrokerLink companies are subsidiaries of Intact Financial Corporation (TSX: IFC).
“Following the rapid expansion of Insurance Central and the need to make significant investments in technology, infrastructure, and brand, I have given careful consideration to many options,” said DeDobbelaer, president of Insurance Central. “I am convinced that the capacity of a larger organization, such as BrokerLink, is the best solution for our customers, brokers, and employees.”
Insurance Central’s 11 locations will be integrated into BrokerLink’s existing network of local offices. DeDobbelaer will join BrokerLink in a management role.
