Insurance Institute to hold National Education Week, offer weather preparedness seminars

The Insurance Institute of Canada will be celebrating National Education Week from Feb 24 to 28, with regional chapters holding professional development events for industry professional.

Events and seminars hosted across Canada on topics specific to the insurance industry, as well as on general professional development issues.

In addition to professional development, local institutes and chapters will be hosting topical seminars on weather preparedness in conjunction with the Insurance Bureau of Canada. To-date the following seminars have been organized:

  • Hamilton, Toronto and Ajax will offer climate change seminar;
  • British Columbia will offer an earthquake seminar;
  • Alberta will offer a storm water and flood mitigation seminar

“Now in its sixth year, National Education Week gives the local Institutes and Chapters an opportunity to demonstrate the value we provide to our members,” Peter Hohman, CEO of the Insurance Institute commented in a statement.

“By coordinating seminars, special events and one-on-one conversations during the week we elevate the knowledge of our members interested in advancing their careers and celebrate achievements of insurance professionals across the country.”
