The Co-operators has launched a new tool on its website that it says can provide an auto insurance estimate in as little as 30 seconds.

The Co-operators launches online quote tool

The Guelph, Ont.-based insurer’s QuickQuote tool provides an estimate for users after they provide their name, date of birth, sex, postal code and make and model of their vehicle.

The tool also includes “sliders” that allow consumers to test the impact that factors such as kilometers driven per year, commute distance and years licenced to drive in Canada will have on their monthly payment.

After an estimate is provided, the site directs users to information about how to connect with Co-operators, also providing an estimate ID number.

The tool is “faster than online quotes offered by other insurance companies in Canada, which typically take five minutes or more,” according to Paul Mlodzik, vice president of marketing and communications for the Co-operators.

“It also provides an instantly updated price each time a piece of information is provided or changed, allowing people to see how different factors affect rates,” he added.

In the “near future,” QuickQuote applications will be developed to provide home and life insurance estimates as well, the company said.
