Intact Financial Corporation has selected Guidewire Software, Inc. to manage its billing operations in a move the insurer expects will enhance business processes and improve customer experience.
“By standardizing its billing operations with BillingCenter, Intact will improve its business processes, increase flexibility for new billing and payment plans, lower IT costs, and deliver an improved customer experience,” notes a statement issued Monday by Intact, Canada’s largest provider of home, auto and business insurance.
Intact expects to deploy the billing and receivables management system in a phased implementation approach, starting with its direct billing in personal lines, the statement adds.
The solution from Guidewire Software, a provider of software products to property and casualty insurers, will replace Intact’s current billing systems and deliver a single flexible alternative that can easily be maintained and adapted.
The system is designed to make it easier to automate the billing lifecycle; design flexible billing, payment and delinquency plans; manage agent commissions; and enable rapid integration with external payment systems.
Some of the anticipated benefits include the following:
“We are now implementing a billing solution that will grow with us and deliver operational efficiencies and cost benefits well into the future,” Mark Tullis, executive vice president for Intact, notes in the statement.
“We are excited to help Intact reach its strategic and customer service objectives and look forward to working with them on this project,” adds Ken Branson, director of product strategy and co-founder of Guidewire Software.
