Commercial brokerage Integro (Canada) Ltd. announced this week it has acquired Multimedia Risk Inc., a Winnipeg-based brokerage specializing in insurance services for motion picture and television production companies.

Integro Canada’s corporate parent is New York City-based Integro Ltd. Integro Canada has offices in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Integro stated that Multimedia Risk has brokered coverage for productions including The Expendables, The Mechanic, Heartland, Corner Gas and Little Mosque on the Prairie. Multimedia Risk is led by its founder, Claude Forest.

“Multimedia Risk adds to our geographic presence and enhances our expertise in entertainment,” Integro Canada president Mark Rankin stated in a press release. “With Integro offices in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, Multimedia gives us a physical presence in a fourth Canadian city and province, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and its diversified, flourishing economy.”

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Last month, Integro acquired Manchester, England-based Doodson Broking Group, whose target market includes promoters, artists, events, governing bodies, leagues and clubs. Integro also owns Colchester, England-based Allan Chapman & James Insurance Brokers Ltd., which offers insurance to the broadcast and media industry.

In the United States, Integro’s subsidiaries include Argo Insurance Brokers, whose target markets include publishing, construction, real estate and health care. Argo has two offices in California: one in Pleasant Hill and one in Newport Beach. Another Integro subsidiary is Nashville-based Frost Specialty Inc., which provides a wide variety of business insurance services.
