Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) officially kicked off its annual Toronto Ride for Diabetes Research campaign on May 31.
Organizers have set a $3.1-million target this year for Toronto. They have issued a challenge to corporate teams to raise funds for research to find a cure for family members living with Type 1 diabetes.
Team members in the past have come from insurance, legal and accounting firms, as well as from the financial services, securities, real estate, hotel and restaurant industries.
The 2011 Toronto Ride for Diabetes Research takes place on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Toronto Convention Centre. See www.jdrf.ca/ride for further information on registering or pledging.
