The financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.
Established in 1976, RRJ Insurance Group is a multi-line office with a current client base in excess of 6,000.
KRG was founded in 1980 to provide all lines of quality commercial and personal insurance. KRG will continue to operate under its current name.
KRG Insurance Brokers president and chief operating officer Paul Martin and KRG management will perform their current roles, as well as head office functions for all member brokerages of the RRJ Insurance Group.
Steven Wise will continue in his capacity as chairman of KRG Insurance Group and the KRG Children’s Charitable Foundation.
Abraham Baboujian and Jennifer James, co-CEOs of RRJ Insurance Group, commented on the merger in a press release.
“KRG’s size and reputation for quality and good business practices will become a model for our growing and evolving brokerage,” they said. “We value Paul’s strong leadership and his excellent reputation and look forward to working with him and his experienced management team.”
RRJ Insurance Group also acquired Whetter Oaklin Insurance Brokers Inc. and Frost Insurance Brokers Limited, both based in Lindsay, Ontario.
“Both of these firms and their staff have very long and well-established reputations in the Lindsay community, and we welcome them to the RRJ Insurance Group,” Baboujian and James said.
