Marsh Inc. announced the appointment of Henry S. Allen as global leader, consumer business, which includes the firms affinity and program management businesses, as well as its private client services division.
Allen joined Marsh in 2002 as practice leader for the Global Trade Credit Practice and head of Marshs Affinity Business in Europe and the Middle East, says a Marsh release.
He was also appointed leader of the firms Private Client Services and Small Commercial Practices in Europe and the Middle East.
We view the consumer business not only as a core part of Marshs offering to institutional clients, but also as a huge opportunity for growth and a competitive advantage in the market, commented Joseph A. Varnas, chief operating officer of Marsh.
Before joining Marsh, Allen ran the European operations of Geocapital, a U.S.-based venture capital firm, in a statement he commented on how thrilled he was to take on his new role.
Globalizing the consumer business and integrating it more closely with the rest of Marsh keeps it aligned with Marshs strategic initiative to build world class operating platforms, and invest in growth priorities, Allen said.
