Munich Re launched an Internet portal as a means to provide information on sustainability strategies and projects.
The new portal will be the central information medium for the public, media, rating agencies and investors who wish to evaluate Munich Re shares from the sustainability point of view. The advantage of a dedicated internet portal is that the contents can be updated on an ongoing basis, Jrgen Fischer, head of Sustainability Management at Munich Re, said in a release. Sustainability is a core part of the Munich Re Group’s long-term corporate strategy. We have been reporting on our activities in this area for a long time and are now considerably extending the information on all topics related to our sustainability approach, which combines the three areas of economy, ecology and social responsibility.
The portal features a number of projects and performance indicators, including corporate governance, innovative insurance solutions, climate neutrality, environmental management, employee benefits and social commitment, according to a release.
The principle of sustainability is one of the central features of insurance, which essentially constitutes a commitment for the future, according to a Munich Re release. For the Munich Re Group, a prospective, prudent und responsible approach is therefore self-evident. This is reflected in the handling of risks, but also in the consideration of sustainability aspects in investments.
The new sustainability portal can be accessed at http://sustainability.munichre.com.
