Odyssey Re Holdings Corp. (NYSE: ORH) has elected Peter M. Bennett to serve on its board of directors.
Mr. Bennett has more than 40 years of experience in the insurance industry. He was president of Canadian International Reinsurance Brokers from 1972 until 1984, when that company merged with LeBlanc Eldridge Parizeau to become BEP International. At that time, he became chairman of BEP International’s Canadian operation.
Upon BEP’s merger with Aon Corporation, Bennett became deputy chairman of Aon Re Canada, and he has continued to serve on its board since his retirement in 2004.
Odyssey Re also elected Paul M. Wolff to its board. He is a partner with the law firm of Williams & Connolly LLP, and served as a member of that firm’s executive committee for 10 years.
With the addition of Bennett and Wolff, OdysseyRe’s Board has increased to nine directors. Robbert Hartog, who had served on the Board since 2001, has retired.
Odyssey Re president and CEO Andrew A. Barnard commented: “I am very pleased to welcome Paul and Peter to our board of directors. They will bring a breadth of experience and insight that will be of great value to OdysseyRe. I would also like to thank Robbert Hartog for his wise counsel and contributions to our board over the years.”
