Rick Orr has been elected as the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO)’s 69th president.
He was officially inducted at the IBAO Convention in October, and will formally assume his role as president on Jan.1, 2012.
Orr is the co-owner of Orr Insurance Brokers Inc. in Stratford, Ontario. He is a fourth generation insurance broker working at the same firm his great grandfather launched in 1895.
He served as the president of the Perth Huron Brokers Association in 1997 and 1998. He joined IBAO’s board as territory director in 2003.
In addition to his IBAO involvement, Orr held a seat on the Canadian Standards for Insurance Operations (CSIO) board for three years. He also sits on the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada’s technology committee.
“Rick brings a lot of enthusiasm and experience into his new role as president,” said Randy Carroll, IBAO’s CEO. “We are thrilled to have him lead our 12,000 brokers into 2012 with a sense of excitement and innovation.”
