RSA has announced two new appointments to its senior leadership team in Canada to support the company’s growth strategy in Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

The company has named Glen Bates as vice president in Quebec, as part of its plans to acquire Quebec company l’Union Canadienne. Bates, formerly vice president in eastern Canada, will relocate to Montreal for the new position.

Fully bilingual, he will be responsible for leading RSA’s integration with l’Union Canadienne and for the company’s growth strategy in Quebec. Bates joined the company in 1996 and has held senior roles with RSA in several major cities across the country.

Also joining RSA’s leadership team is Rosalind Staples-Simpson, who takes on the role of vice president in Atlantic Canada. Her previous role was as director of commercial insurance. She will relocate to Halifax.

In her new role, Staples-Simpson will oversee all sales, underwriting, operations, large commercial and specialty, commercial insurance, personal insurance and Canadian Services Centre activities in the Atlantic region.

Staples-Simpson has more than 12 years of experience with RSA, working across Canada in various senior underwriting positions.
