RSA appoints new Ontario leader of Large Commercial & Specialty business

Property and casualty insurer RSA has appointed Paul Lucarelli as vice president of its Large Commercial and Specialty business in the Ontario Region.

In this new role, Lucarelli will also lead the compnany’s Large Commercial and Speciality upper Mid-Market business in Ontario. 

He will be working closely with Bernard McNulty (vice president of Large Commercial and Specialty Underwriting) and Tony Hayes (vice president of Sales and Marketing), the company said. 

Lucarelli will also work closely alongside Donna Ince, who leads of RSA’s Personal and Commercial (Small to lower Mid-Market Business) Division in Ontario.  In partnership, Lucarelli and Ince will lead the delivery of RSA’s commercial proposition to broker partners in the province.

Lucarelli has a strong background in technical underwriting leadership. Beginning his career at RSA as an underwriter, he later took on various commercial underwriting leadership roles.

Throughout his 18 year career, he has led multiple strategic initiatives, with a proven track record in portfolio management and leadership. He led the underwriting integration of GCAN and RSA, forming the current Large Commercial & Specialty Division following RSA’s 2011 acquisition of GCAN. Most recently, he held the position of VP Technical Resource Group, supporting RSA’s Large Commercial and Specialty business nationally.

Lucarelli is also a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) and holds the Canadian Risk Management designation.
