The Dominion has launched a new YouTube-based risk management series of tools and content aimed at commercial building owners, available for its brokers to use on their own websites and share through their social media feeds.

The YouTube toolkit, called the Business Protection Series, includes videos related to loss prevention planning and reducing the impact of major hazards including fire, water damage, slip and fall, crime and vandalism and equipment failure.

Social mediaIt also includes a “knowledge centre” with checklists, how-to documents and white papers that the insurer’s broker partners can co-brand for their use. They can also embed the co-branded video content into their own sites and share them via social media.

The entire series can be accessed through thedominion.ca, or via the company’s YouTube channel, TheDominionINS. The idea was to have content that’s easy for broker partners to share and use for their own clients, according to the company.

“We saw an opportunity in the marketplace to work together with our brokers in providing relevant information and we acted,” Linda regner-Dykeman, senior vice president of commercial lines at the Dominion noted.  “Our brokers told us that many of their clients lacked the tools and information necessary to develop or put into practice a loss prevention plan that would protect their businesses.  We developed this toolkit to help building owners do just that.”

The new offering comes as the Dominion is putting more effort into its social media presence, including recently creating a Twitter account, @TheDominionINS.
