Trillium Mutual Insurance Company has partnered with The Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company of Canada (HSB BI&I) to launch two new products for small to medium-sized commercial and agricultural operations.

CyberOne Coverage protects businesses against damage to electronic data and computer systems from a computer attack such as viruses, hacking or a denial of service attack, as well as against events that damage or degrade data and systems

Providing indemnity for first-party expenses and third-party costs of defence, settlement and judgment, the Data Compromise Coverage “helps businesses notify and assist affected individuals following a breach of personally identifying information,” notes a statement from Trillium Mutual, which has more than 135 years of experience in the agricultural insurance industry.

CyberOne Coverage, for its part, protects businesses against damage to electronic data and computer systems from a computer attack such as viruses, hacking or a denial of service attack, as well as against events that damage or degrade data and systems. “It also pays for defence and liability costs for an insured’s security system failure, including breach of third-party business information,” the statement adds.

Noting that all businesses rely on computer systems that are vulnerable to attack, “these coverages are available with scalable limits at a modest price point specifically designed for small to medium-sized operations and allow us to continue to provide a complete insurance solution for our business and agricultural clients,” says Mike Virley, Trillium Mutual’s vice president of member services.
