On the heels of Hurricane Charley devastating the Florida coast, Tropical Storm Risk (TSR) is predicting more of the same is on the way.
TSR says at least one more hurricane force storm is expected to hit the U.S. coast this season.
Already just three weeks into the hurricane season there have been three hurricanes, with two becoming intense. TSR notes that in the past 54 year, only six times have three hurricanes formed before August 19, and only three times has there been two or more intense hurricanes by this date.
This strong activity confirms forecasts made by TSR, as well as those of Prof. William Gray of Colorado State University.
TSR lead scientist Dr. Mark Saunders says slower than usual trade winds and higher than normal sea temperatures are to blame for the activity.
