Western Financial Group has recently completed the acquisition of two insurance brokerages in Southern Alberta Thomsen Fisher Agencies and Willow Creek Agencies.
Thomsen Fisher Agencies is located in Alberta’s seventh-largest city, Medicine Hat, Alberta. Willow Creek Agencies is based in Claresholm, Alberta, one hour south of Calgary.
In a press release announcing the acquisitions, Western Financial Group described Thomsen Fisher Agencies as “one of the leading insurance brokers in Southern Alberta, offering a wide range of insurance services, with strength in commercial and agri-business products.”
Western Financial said the addition of Thomsen Fisher would provide a second office location for Western Financial Group in Medicine Hat, complimenting Gateway Agencies’ strong presence in the area.
“We are pleased to have Thomsen Fisher on board,” Western Financial Group president and CEO Scott Tannas said in a press release. “They have a long and distinguished history in the community, and an excellent reputation in the insurance business in Alberta.
“Darren Visosky, Glenn Tiller, and the 26 members of the Thomsen Fisher team operate one of the province’s best and most profitable insurance operations. They will add expertise in several areas to the benefit of our entire network.”
Willow Creek Agencies provides home, auto, farm and small commercial insurance products and services to customers throughout the Claresholm trading area.
“We are pleased to welcome Brian Smith [of Willow Creek Agencies] and his team [at Willow Creek Agencies] to the Western Financial Group family,” Tannas said. “Claresholm is an important community in southern Alberta, and we look forward to having the opportunity to build on the very successful base of business that exists today at Willow Creek Agencies.”
Western Financial Group is a financial service company based in Western Canada. With offices in towns and small cities across the West, the Group provides more than 250,000 customers with insurance, investment and banking products through WFG Agency Network, Western Life and Bank West.
