Former Quebec Justice Minister Marc Bellemare has announced he will run for mayor of Quebec City in the November municipal election. Bellemare resigned his provincial role last year after a failed attempt to reform Quebec’s auto insurance system.

The Insurance Corp. of B.C. has awarded $10,000 in scholarships to four students at University of B.C.’s School of Rehabilitation. Aaron Rizzardo of Merritt, Kevin Perras of Terrace, Darlene Asayo of Abbotsford and Davida Hoberg of Vernon each received a $2,500 award for academic achievement. The scholarships go to students in the fourth year of programs leading to degrees in occupational or physical therapy.

PLUS Canada asks “What’s Lurking in Your Files?”, offering a breakfast seminar on emerging trends in D&O, cyber liability and EPL. The two-hour course, which counts for 2 RIBO technical hours, begins at 8:00 am, at The Ontario Club in Toronto’s Commerce Court South. Speakers include Eric A. Dolden, senior partner at Dolden Wallace Folick; Murn Meyrick, specialty claims handling attorney at Chubb Insurance Co. of Canada; and Nicholas C.
