For the fourth consecutive year, The Co-operators is among the “50 Best Employers in Canada” according to a list compiled by the international human resources firm Hewitt Associates.
The Co-operators, based in Guelph, is 20th on this year’s list, an improvement of five spots from last year’s ranking of 25th. Measured using confidential surveys, the rankings are based on levels of staff engagement and the measure of employees’ emotional and intellectual commitment to the organization for which they work.
“What makes the “50 Best Employers in Canada” list so meaningful is that it is the employees themselves who rank their employers,” said Kathy Bardswick, president and CEO of The Co-operators. “Having employees who are not only happy, but also committed to the organization and what it stands for is the foundation of our business success.”

Private Client Services, a division of ENCON Group Inc. (acquired by Marsh Canada Limited), will continue its business as Marsh’s Private Client Services, the company recently announced.
The move is part of an overall corporate strategy to align all divisions of Marsh & McLennan Companies.
“We are pleased to once again have Private Client Services (PCS) be part of the Marsh Canada portfolio,” said John Barclay, managing director at Marsh.
“PCS has been one of Canada’s leading personal lines insurance brokerage businesses for more than 50 years and we intend to keep it that way.”
The addresses and phone numbers of the PCS offices across Canada will remain the same, as will the client managers that service individual accounts.
