Warren Jestin, senior vice president and chief economist with Scotiabank Canada, and Glenn Gibson, global chief strategy officer with Crawford & Company, will be the keynote speakers at the CIP Society’s 2009 Symposium on Apr. 29.
The event, ‘A Bridge Over Troubled Waters: Local, National and Global Perspectives,’ will be held at the Toronto Board of Trade. This year’s symposium will look at the financial system and provide insights to help navigate the dynamics of today’s economy.
Seminar topics will include:
•    differentiating a business to create value propositions from a customer service perspective;
•    evaluating consumer idealism vs. company realism from a technology standpoint;
•    assessing the economy; and
•    assessing when to ramp up or hunker down from a business strategy viewpoint.

Nominations are now open for the CIP Society’s National Leadership Awards.
The new initiative, part of the society’s 10th anniversary celebrations, will be awarded to individuals who demonstrate strong leadership in their roles, industry and communities.
There are categories for both established and up-and-coming leaders.
Up to 10 members may be honoured as a National Leader each year.
The nomination period for the CIP Society’s National Leadership Award began on Mar. 1 and will be open until June 1.
