The Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company (SMI) is continuing its investment as a full partner of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC)’s Broker Identity Program.
“SMI is pleased to continue its support of the Broker Identity Program,” Laura Wiebe, president and CEO of SMI, noted in a release. “We have long recognized the value independent brokers contribute to the distribution of insurance products and the broker logo is a well recognized symbol of this value.”

The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) is hosting a workshop with Dr. Jennifer Beverly, research scientist with the Canadian Forest Service, on May 22.
The workshop is being held at the ICLR, 20 Richmond Street East, Suite 210, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
In this presentation, the wildfire problem in Canada will be outlined using a new database that documents the number of community evacuations due to wildfire and associated fire impacts.
Approaches to mapping wildfire risk at landscape and community scales will be presented using results from a recently completed multi-disciplinary research project that investigated wildfire risk in west central Alberta.
Please RSVP to Tracy Waddington at (416) 364-8677
