Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc. announced the closing of its previously announced offering of 4 million shares, representing aggregate gross proceeds of Cdn$100 million.
The shares yield 6% per annum, payable quarterly when declared by the board of directors.
The net proceeds of the offering will be used for general corporate purposes, Industrial Alliance said in a statement.
The shares are not redeemable prior to Dec. 31, 2014.

The Co-operators and the Infant & Toddler Safety Association (ITSA) have launched a new Web site to help keep Canadian children safe on roads.
The new Web site, www.infantandtoddlersafety.ca, hosts a variety of educational materials, including printable brochures, checklists and videos designed to help adults learn the proper use of child car seats.
Resources include Car Seat Safety Check, an instructional video that provides step-by-step instructions for selecting appropriate car seats and installing them properly.
“Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death and injury in young children,” ITSA director Valerie Lee says in a statement.
“A properly used child restraint can prevent up to 75% of these deaths and injuries. We hope that watching the videos and reading the information on our new Web site will help keep our children safe on the road.”
