B.C. public insurer ICBC has teamed up with Vancouver police and B.C.’s solicitor general to launch the annual holiday Drinking and Driving CounterAttack campaign.
The campaign will use automated licence plate recognition technology, alcohol screening devices and road checks to catch and charge impaired drivers.

PPG’s MVP Business Solutions team announced its Green Belt training schedule for the first half of 2010.
The four-day intensive training, available to owners and managers of collision repair centres using PPG Refinishing products, teaches the practical applications of the company’s ‘Lean Six Sigma’ principles.
Canadian training dates are as follows:
•    Jan. 11–14, Halifax, Nova Scotia
•    June 7–10, Toronto, Ontario
The training program includes:
•    success factors intended to enable organizations to thrive in rapidly changing environments;
•    simulation games intended to teach the ‘Lean Six Sigma’ fundamentals and what cycle time reduction means to the collision repair process;
•    practical application of ‘Lean Six Sigma’ principles through ‘X-Ray Repair Planning’ and fundamentals such as workplace organizations.
