The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) honoured the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) with its Gold Flame Award at WICC’s 15th annual gala dinner in Toronto on Apr. 13.
The award recognizes individuals or organizations making donations that exceed $5,000 and/or making other significant contributions to WICC.
IBAO was nominated and awarded in appreciation for selecting WICC as the charity of choice for donations in lieu of speaker gifts at IBAO’s annual convention since 2009. The donations have contributed more than $7,100 to help in the fight against cancer.
Over the past three years, IBAO has raised more than $30,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society through its participation in Relay for Life events.
“WICC is an extraordinary organization committed to educating and supporting people with loved ones suffering from this horrible disease,” said Randy Carroll, IBAO’s CEO, in a statement. “IBAO is proud to support this incredible cause and will continue to support it for years to come.”
