Willis continues growth in Vancouver

Continuing to strategic move to strengthen its presence in key North American markets, Willis Group Holdings (NYSE: WSH) recently expanded its Canadian operations into Vancouver, BC.
Willis recently welcomed Maurice Gesner, Sandie Morton, and Chris Zuberec to its growing Vancouver practice.
Boasting over 29 years of claims experience specializing in Marine losses, Gesner joins the Company as vice president, claims manager. Prior to joining Willis, Gesner headed up Aon Reed Stenhouse’s Marine Claims Department where he handled major claims for domestic and international companies. He is currently serving as chairman of the Association of Average Adjusters of Canada.
Morton, who joins as vice president, construction practice group, joins Willis with over 15 years experience in the insurance industry, specializing in Construction risks. Previously, Morton was an account executive for Aon Reed Stenhouse Inc. and was responsible for the coordination of services to large, multinational construction accounts. Morton is experienced in both Canadian and US construction risks.
Zuberec joins as Willis as assistant vice-president, senior risk control consultant. Most recently he worked at Marsh Canada, just part of his 20 years of experience in risk control consulting. Previously Zuberac worked with GCAN/Gerling Insurance, and Canadian Industrial Risks Insurers. He has provided engineering risk control services for worldwide mining operations and mining construction projects. Zuberec also has extensive experience in pulp and paper, wood products, energy, petrochemicals, power generation, and commercial operations.
In addition, the company announced the appointment of Sandra Sherrard as Western regional claims manager, responsible for the British Columbia and Alberta regions. Sherrard, with over 30 years of experience in an eclectic array of claims, joined Willis in 1997 as Claims Manager in Vancouver.
Willis’ Vancouver operations continue to build an infrastructure of professionals to accommodate all areas of insurance, risk management, and employee benefits.
