Willis (NYSE: WSH) recently engaged in two acquisitions and will continue making purchases in its strategic move to boost its regional business.
Most recently, Willis reached agreements to buy Peruvian broker JH Asesores y Corredores de Seguros (JHA) and Brazilian benefits company K R Athos Consultoria e Corretora de Seguro de Vida (Athos).
The next steps in Willis’s acquisition plan is to move into the Mexican market and continue efforts in Brazil.
Moving into these markets is part of a long-term acquisition strategy that preempts substantial growth potential in the said areas economy. Willis believes that, for example, the Peruvian economy and insurance market will allow them to fill a gap they previously had in their Latin American strategy.
Brazil is of interest to the Company because of its employee benefits business area, which Willis believes is the key to its strategic revenue growth.
