Paul Meinschenk has joined managing general agency (MGA) Totten Insurance Group as chief operating officer and executive vice president, effective May 31.

With 18 years of experience in the insurance industry, Meinschenk was mostly recently vice president of sales and producer management for insurer CNA Canada. A graduate of London, Ont.-based Western University in Ontario, his career highlights include major insurers and specialty players including MGAs.

“Paul is a fantastic addition to our executive team,” said Totten president Denis Dei Cont in a press release Monday. “He brings extensive insurer, MGA and broker relationship experience to Totten.”

Meinschenk will be based in Totten’s Toronto office and will lead Totten’s national specialty division, along with the Ontario region. He will focus on enhancing broker partnerships.

“MGAs are a critical component of the Canadian insurance supply chain providing solutions to complex and specialty risks,” Meinschenk said. “I’m looking forward to joining Totten and working with the team to further enhance our broker offerings.”

Totten has offices across Canada and covers a variety of industry segments, including commercial property, commercial casualty, hospitality, construction and professional liability and personal lines.
