Lance Kayfish, risk manager at the City of Kelowna, British Columbia, received the Richard W. Bland Memorial Award at the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS)’s 2010 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Boston.
The award was created by RIMS Kansas City Chapter in 1974 to recognize a member’s dedicated commitment in the area of legislation or regulation.
Kayfish has a background in post-secondary education management. He has worked as a risk manager with the City of Kelowna since 2003; before that, he worked with the University of Calgary as manager of safety services.
Also, RIMS handed out ‘Super Star’ recognition to the Canadian RIMS chapters of Saskatchewan and Newfoundland & Labrador, each of which increased their membership by 9% last year.
