Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI), Ontario’s new electronic system for submitting auto insurance forms, is now preparing to process documents related to the province’s new auto insurance reforms.
“Auto reform requirements were solidified, and the development of the functionality for OCF 18s, 21s and 23s is currently underway,” HCAI reported in a July 26 update.
HCAI notes as of Sept. 1, 2010, when the reforms are implemented:
• All draft forms created prior to Sept. 1, 2010 will not be valid on or after Sept. 1. New draft forms must be created on and after September 1.
• HCAI will not accept old versions of the OCF 18, 21 and 23.
• HCAI will accept new versions of OCF 18, 21 and 23, as published by FSCO.
• The OCF 22 will no longer be a superintendent-approved form and will not be available on HCAI for new submissions.
• The OCF 9 will still be available on HCAI, but will no longer be a superintendent-approved form.
• HCAI will accommodate the new Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) regulation and the new Minor Injury Guideline (MIG) intervention codes.
