CHES Special Risk Inc. Strengthens Senior Management Team with Toronto Hire

Maruf Hasan joins as Vice President and Senior Underwriter, Toronto Branch

Toronto, ON – CHES Special Risk Inc. today announced Maruf Hasan has joined its Toronto office as Vice President and Senior Underwriter, supporting the growth and expansion of the company’s Underwriting and Senior Management Team in Toronto.

Mr. Hasan joins CHES Special Risk Inc. from Thistle Underwriting Services where he served for two years as Underwriting Team Leader. In this role he was responsible for the firm’s Underwriting approach and Product design in the Commercial Property and Liability arena. He also managed relationships with brokers to identify opportunities for growth.

Prior to joining Thistle Underwriting Services, Mr. Hasan worked for several years at Echelon General Insurance Company, where he Lead the Niche Products Division.

Mr. Hasan holds a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) from The Insurance Institute of Canada, is a Chartered Insurer from the Chartered  Insurance Institute  of London, U.K. and an Associate of the Chartered  Insurance Institute  (ACII), London, U.K., furthermore Mr. Hasan is an Associate of Bangladesh Insurance Academy and holds a Post Graduate Diploma  in Personnel Management and a Masters of Commerce in Marketing.
