VANCOUVER, Aug. 14, 2017 – insPRESS – Markel recently acquired 100% of Allsport Insurance Marketing and has appointed Gina Bennett as Western Region Leader for Markel Canada. To further the integration of the two companies they are moving into new premises in Vancouver later this year and planning an expansion of the sports, leisure and recreation (SLR) sector of business across the country.
Gina began her insurance career in 1987 with a national brokerage firm, as a broker and holding senior management roles while there. She then moved into underwriting with Aviva in 2005, including the role of commercial lines manager in Vancouver; and moved to Allsport in 2011 becoming President in 2016. Gina holds both the Chartered Insurance Professional and Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designations.
Mike Rogers also joins Markel’s Western Region as Senior Professional Liability Underwriter. Mike has over 25+ years’ experience with expertise in Professional Liability. Mike holds a Level II BC Brokers Licence, and the FCIP and CRM designations.
We are happy to expand and diversify our Canadian operations, and welcome Gina and Mike to their new roles.
