A new way of getting things done in insurance litigation

January 26, 2018   by Strigberger Brown Armstrong LLP

TORONTO, January 26, 2018  /insPRESS/ – “Something new” happened on January 8, 2018, as Strigberger Brown Armstrong LLP opened its doors. The 14-lawyer firm, split between offices in Toronto and Waterloo, will provide a full range of legal services to the insurance industry.

“Too often claims get stuck in a mill, where work is done but minimal value is added,” said Lisa Armstrong, managing partner of Strigberger Brown Armstrong’s Toronto office. “Our approach removes the mill and adds value to the process. What’s more, our commitment to efficient, timely, and practical legal services will be particularly attractive to the industry.”

The new firm is committed to changing the status quo for provision of legal services, starting with its own composition. Women make up 64% of the firm’s lawyers, 78% of its partners, and 100% of its managing partner. The firm bills itself as proactive, efficient and practical, with a focus on client support.  The boutique practice will maintain a core focus on all areas of insurance risk management advice and litigation, including bodily injury defence, long-term disability, property, subrogation, accident benefits, priority/loss transfer disputes, and insurance coverage.

“We listened to our clients and now we really want to bring customer service to the lawyer/insurer relationship,” said Daniel Strigberger, a founding partner in the Waterloo office. “We are uniquely positioned to provide quick turn-around and response times, with the same high-level expertise our clients expect from their counsel.”

With lawyers located in the Waterloo office, the firm will provide services to clients located outside the GTA and the surrounding region. In addition to providing industry advice, the firm also prides itself on being “not just for profit” and is in the process of partnering with charities in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo in order to give back to the local community.
