Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. Assisting with Claims Surge After Heavy Rains Hit GTA and Edmonton

July 17, 2012   by Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.

On July 15, a two-hour downpour caused flooding, power outages and road closures throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning Sunday afternoon and later reported that as much as 80 mm of rain fell in East York and Scarborough. In Edmonton, Alberta, heavy rains on July 12 were followed by a rainfall warning from Environment Canada on July 15. A reported 50 mm of rain has fallen, causing widespread flooding, property damages and closure of a major highway. Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.’s adjusters in East Toronto and Edmonton, along with the Company’s national CAT team, are handling the surge of claims resulting from this event.

“Our adjusters in these regions have a great depth of experience and knowledge to help them act quickly at times like these,” said John Sharoun, chief executive officer of Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. “We are managing the events out of our regional branches and will deploy additional adjusters to the area if necessary.”
