Andrew Agencies moves into Alberta with recent acquisition

Virden, Man.-based Andrew Agencies Ltd. is expanding to Alberta with its acquisition of McCracken Insurance M.I.L. Ltd. located in Airdrie, Alta.

The acquired branch will be Andrew Agencies’ 18^th location and its first outside of Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

McCracken Insurance’s current group of employees, which includes branch manager Debbie Miller, will remain at the branch and receive support from Andrew Agencies’ product specialists.

“The McCracken family wish to thank all of our clients for their past support and loyalty. It has been a pleasure doing business in Airdrie and surrounding area for over 50 years,” said Miller. “Our decision to sell our business to Andrew Agencies was based on the similarities of the two companies, one family business to another.”

Andrew Agencies has also announced that Clint Smith has assumed the role of chief operations officer (COO). Smith joined the company in 1996 and has held multiple roles that include insurance broker, investment advisor, branch manager and vice president of operations. Smith is licensed to sell P&C insurance, life insurance and mutual funds.

“We are excited to have Clint as our COO. He is well respected within our organization and also the insurance and financial services industry and is a good fit to drive our future growth plans”, said Scott Andrew, president and CEO of Andrew Agencies.
