Without further ado, here’s what made headlines in February:

1. Economical announces changes to operational structure

The insurer plans to reduce its headcount, streamline its product offering and cut down on third-party costs.

2. Hub acquires brokerage in Western Canada

Hub targeted a Saskatchewan brokerage specializing in agriculture, oil and trucking for its latest acquisition.

3. Hub International launches eight specialty practices

Hub’s CEO says “Business owners expect brokers to be specialists.”

4. Economical to launch new platform for brokers

Vyne—built on the same Guidewire platform Economical used to develop Sonnet—will allow brokers to administer policies for personal lines and individually rated commercial auto.

5. CSIO gives its eDelivery solution a name, release date

Goodbye paper, hello digital: CSIO members can now send out digital policy documents through My Proof of Insurance.
