mergers-01McFarlan Rowlands Insurance Brokers, based in London, Ont., has announced it is acquiring Kitchener’s DA Kurt Insurance Brokers, in a deal effective April 30, 2018.

“After working with DA Kurt in the past, we found this acquisition to be a natural fit in the evolution of the two brokerages,” Burke Neale, McFarlan Rowlands president and CEO, said in a news release. “DA Kurt has a wonderful group of staff and shares similar values when it comes to customer service. We look forward to building our brokerages together.”

While both brokerages will continue to operate under their own respective brands, the move helps McFarlan Rowlands to expand its business to new areas of the province. DA Kurt’s current location and existing customers will not be impacted by the acquisition.

“Staff and customers have always been the foundation of our business. By partnering with McFarlan Rowlands it allows us to remain an independent brokerage committed to customer service,” said DA Kurt president David Kurt.

The acquisition marks McFarlan Rowlands’ 16th branch in Ontario.
