AssessMed Announces the Addition of Shawn Kavanaugh as the firm’s newest member of the business development team

Shawn Kavanaugh has joined the AssessMed family in the role of Senior Business Relations Advisor. Shawn is a licensed chiropractor who holds a specialty in Chiropractic Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation.  Shawn has held the position of Vice President of the Canadian Chiropractic Specialty College of Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation. He also has advanced credentials in Pain Management from the Canadian Academy of Pain Management. Furthermore, Shawn has provided director level rehabilitation management and clinical oversight for adults facing the effects of a brain injury and related physical disabilities.

Shawn has completed the AMA Guides to Evaluation of Permanent Impairment Course as well as additional post-secondary education at the University of Montreal in Insurance Medicine. Shawn has received training through the Ontario Brain Injury Association, Advanced Functional Capacity Evaluations, In Home Assessments, Work Hardening and Work Conditioning. Shawn remains active in clinical research and has been published in peer reviewed journals including Spine and Journal of Manipulative Physiological Therapeutics.

Shawn will be primarily working in the South-Western Ontario region serving as a highly customer focused resource to all clients, offering experienced advice on overall file management and associated assessment recommendations.  Shawn’s wealth of clinical experience and knowledge of the assessment arena means he is uniquely suited to provide recommendations for appropriate services to AssessMed customers in various lines of business.
