Through its launch of Health Assess™, Cira Medical Services becomes the first national medical assessment organization to offer a comprehensive and integrated clinical solution designed to assist clients and claimants in the evaluation of medical issues.
TORONTO, March 06, 2014—Cira Medical Services (Cira) is excited to announce the launch of a new service offering, called Health Assess™, for its clients and claimants in the property & casualty industry. Coinciding with the release of the 2014 Final Report of the Ontario Automobile Insurance Dispute Resolution System Review, the timely launch of Health Assess™ demonstrates Cira’s continued commitment to driving innovation within the industry to optimize file progression and deliver enhancements to the claimant experience.
Health Assess™ is a unique service that delivers a consultative clinical review at the initial stages of a file, enabling adjusters and case managers to gain faster access to more accurately identify the relevant medical issues impacting a claimant, thus creating an evidence-based approach to file progression and rehabilitation decisions. Empowering adjusters and case managers with the timely clinical information early in the process improves the claimant’s experience because it enables these individuals to get the right level and type of support to return to function. In addition, the service offers the option of consultation on appropriate treatment recommendations through Clinical Directors at the onset of the file. These Clinical Directors are trained to understand clinical issues within the context of patient care to ensure that they are providing the right support at the right time for the right issue.
“The launch of Health Assess™ is aligned with Cira’s existing clinical rigour, policies, and procedures which have been recently validated and benchmarked internationally by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF),” said Karen Seward, President, Cira Medical Services. “Initial feedback from clients has validated that Health Assess™ offers opportunity to gain clinical insights that assist with helping the claimant understand and manage their health issues.”
In the assessment phase of the service there is a dependency on quality. “Each assessor that is part of the Cira network has undergone a thorough credentialing and quality control process to ensure that all reports are fair, objective and evidence-based while maintaining a focus on the unique issues that surround each claimants case,” said Dr. Avi Orner, Medical Director, Cira Medical Services.
