Crawford & Company Responds to Chilean Earthquake

Crawford & Company (NYSE: CRDA; CRDB), the worlds largest independent provider of claims management solutions, has mobilized its extensive staff of in-country, regional and Global Technical Services (GTS) adjusters to handle the losses resulting from the devastating earthquake that impacted Chile on Saturday.
Our highly talented team has begun working around the clock to assess damage sustained from the earthquake. Crawfords offices in Chile are being supported by our professionals worldwide to ensure that we deliver superior adjusting services to the countrys residents and businesses so they can begin the recovery process, said Jeffrey T. Bowman, Crawford president and chief executive officer.
Crawford Chile is the largest claims adjusting firm in Chile, with offices in Santiago, Concepcion and 10 other locations and more than 400 adjusters. We have significant adjusting resources available throughout the country, said Javier Carvallo, president of Crawford Chile. In addition, we will supplement our staff with other Spanish-speaking adjusters from the company as claims continue to be reported. GTS adjusters also are available to help assess large and complex losses resulting from the earthquake.
Though communications, power and water supplies have been hard-hit by the earthquake, Crawford implemented its Latin American catastrophe plan and was able to begin working in Chile within hours of the event. The company is receiving notices of loss from local and international insurers and reinsurers and has been able to send adjusters to assess losses.
