CSIO Appoints Christopher Harness of Northbridge Financial Corporation to Board of Directors

September 19, 2016   by CSIO (Centre for Study of Insurance Operations)

Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) Chairman Steve Whitelaw, VP, Strategic Planning and Execution at Travelers Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member to the CSIO Board of Directors.

Christopher Harness, VP Solutions Delivery at Northbridge Financial Corporation, is responsible for the delivery of all technology solutions within the Northbridge transformation program – a multi-year program designed to standardize and streamline insurance operations across all lines of business. Harness led the initiatives that resulted in Northbridge being named as the first insurer to obtain CSIO Certification for both Personal and Commercial Lines eDocs as well as the eDelivery solution.

“It is clear that Chris’s proven experience in tech, digital strategy and the provision of superior customer service will help CSIO deliver even more value to its members,” says Whitelaw. “I would like to thank Andrew Wood, Northbridge’s CIO for his tremendous contributions and tenure on the CSIO Board and extend a warm welcome to Chris, who I’m sure will replicate the progress that Andrew established for Northbridge at CSIO.”

Northbridge Financial Corporation maintains its support for the development and implementation of standards in Canada and will continue to strengthen the depth and representation of the Board.

“At Northbridge, I championed the CSIO Certification program because I recognized the importance of creating interoperability between brokers and insurers,” declares Harness. “Standardization allows the broker channel to achieve efficiency gains and ultimately improve its competitive position, and I look forward to working with the CSIO Board to bring more efficiencies to our industry.”
