DAS Canada Releases Quebec Research on Common Legal Problems

TORONTO, Dec. 5, 2017 /insPress/ – An overwhelming majority of Quebecers are worried that a legal problem could significantly impact their lives. That is one of the key findings in a survey commissioned by DAS Canada.

“The main objective of the survey was to gauge Quebecers’ perceptions of common legal problems that could occur in everyday life,” says Nancy Babeu, DAS Canada Broker Consultant for Quebec. “We also wanted to get a sense of their concerns when it comes to accessing the justice system and their awareness of the solutions available to resolve legal issues.”

The survey provided some insightful results into the minds of Quebecers. One of the most significant findings was that 65% of Quebecers worry about their finances taking a hit if they were ever involved in a legal problem with a financial stake of $2,000 or more. 90% of Quebecers also believe a legal problem would have a serious negative impact on their physical and emotional health.

“This survey is only a small part of our efforts at DAS to educate and inform the broker and insurer communities about the access to justice issues faced by their clients,” added Gregory Hélias, Corporate Partnerships for Quebec at DAS Canada. “Not only do the survey results indicate the need for better access to the legal system, but they also highlight the need for Legal Expense Insurance in Quebec and across Canada.”
