Accident Support Services International Ltd., facilitators of collision reporting servicing the Insurance Industry and Police, is pleased to announce the release of updates and enhancements to our Collision Reporting and Occurrence Management System (CROMS) with respect to Inconsistency Notices.

Insurers utilizing CROMS will notice a new tab added to the first page of their reports at the Party Level. By clicking on “SIU Alerts”, CROMS users will have the ability to view a list of inconsistencies identified by the CROMS audit that is associated with their insured party.

In the past, CROMS has automatically forwarded an Inconsistency Notice to an insurer once 4 out of 15 possible flags have been triggered on a collision report entered into our CROMS system. Effective August 15, 2015, the presence of any one of 7 specific flags of the 16 now possible will trigger an automatic Inconsistency Alert notice on their own. For the remaining 11 events, a minimum threshold of 4 flags will be required to trigger an Inconsistency Notice.

A special event alert that has also been added to the Inconsistency Notice list is notification of the use of the damaged vehicle in a ride-sharing business.

Enhancements to our CROMS Inconsistency Notices were developed through consultation with our User Group and we are confident that they will prove to be of benefit to our insurance partners in providing immediate notification of possible report inconsistencies and assist in streamlining their investigative process.
