FirstOnSite Restoration raises $6,000 to support the Spirit of Newfoundland Restoration Project

December 11, 2018   by FirstOnSite Restoration

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Dec. 11, 2018 /insPRESS/ – FirstOnSite Restoration, Canada’s largest independent restoration company, has raised $6,000 to support the restoration of the iconic St. John’s Masonic Temple, owned by and home to Spirit of Newfoundland.

FirstOnSite launched a GoFundMe campaign during the RIMS Canada 2018 Conference to support the community in its efforts to preserve the historic landmark. The company has matched funds raised to reach the final number.

The decision to assist the restoration project was a natural choice for the company, which is both highly involved in local communities and committed to the craft of restoration. The Masonic Temple has been a mainstay of St. John’s cityscape since its birth in 1894. The architectural gem boasts four performance rooms, a massive pipe organ, pianos in every room, and plenty of mystery and intrigue to inspire great artistic and creative thought. It is also home to the performance group Spirit of Newfoundland, and hosts musical dinner theatre events, weddings and a variety of community groups.

During RIMS Canada 2018, FirstOnSite and Spirit of Newfoundland encouraged conference attendees to stop by the historically significant site to explore the stunning architecture.

“The support shown by RIMS attendees and the community at large, is an acknowledgement of the importance of preserving historic landmarks,” said Dave Demos, chief executive officer of FirstOnSite Restoration. “Our business is restoration of all types of homes and businesses and our commitment is to the local communities that we serve.”
