Giffin Koerth to Host ‘The Impact of Codes, Inspections & End Use on Building Liability Claims’ Seminar on May 21st

TORONTO – Giffin Koerth to host The Impact of Codes, Inspections & End Use on Building Liability Claims seminar on May 21^st at 20 Toronto St., Toronto, ON. Ron Koerth, Vice President, and Tom Pepper, Senior Associate, of Giffin Koerth, as well as Ann Pepper, a professor in the Architectural Technology/Technician Program at Georgian College will present a half-day seminar, followed by a lunch panel discussion.

The conference will provide an understanding of codes, inspections, end use and other related aspects, and their impact on liability. Areas of focus will be: the purpose of the Ontario Building Code and how it is enforced; the obligations of architects, engineers, and home inspectors; defects that can arise during and after construction, and the impact on liability; the benefits of a forensic examination of the documents and physical premises; and mistakes that building defect investigators often make and their impact on your case. 

The seminar is certified for four substantive hours by the Law Society of Upper Canada and four technical hours by the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario. The presentation portion of the seminar will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a one hour lunch panel discussion where audience members will be encouraged to ask questions and gain further insight.
