Gina Bennett appointed President of Allsport

January 29, 2016 – Karen Barkley, President of Markel Canada is pleased to announce that Gina Bennett has been appointed as President of Allsport Insurance Marketing Ltd. effective January 15, 2016. Owned in part by Markel Canada since 1997, Markel Syndicate 3000 for Lloyd’s is the carrier of the portfolio written by Allsport. Gina has overall responsibility for the accountability and integrity of Allsport Insurance and will report to the Allsport Insurance Board of Directors.

Gina’s insurance career began in 1987 as an insurance broker with a national firm moving into senior management roles specializing in commercial auto. In 2005 she started her underwriting career at Aviva Canada as commercial lines manager in Vancouver and moved to Allsport in 2011 as Underwriting Manager then onto Vice President as the successor for Murray Morrison. Morrison recently retired from Allsport after joining the company in 1993. Gina has both the Chartered Insurance Professional and Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker designations.

In business since 1987, Allsport Insurance Marketing Ltd. is an incorporated Managing General Agent (MGA) specializing in providing insurance to Canadians for sport, leisure and recreation activities. Today, Allsport is the largest insurer of non-profit sports associations in Canada.
